Anyhow, I did want to blog about our Easter festivities...this another one of my favs as far as holidays go. I remember as a kid BEGGIN my mom let us color easter eggs. I also remember PLEADING with her not to force me to wear shiny easter shoes. That's what I remember them as "easter shoes." I think I was a strange child with very particular issues when it came to shoes. I really mostly liked to wear sneakers. Any shiny or pointy or heaven forbid open-toed and full blown tantrum would ensue from yours truly. Clearly those days are gone & there aint nothin cuter then some pretty sandals :)
We made it to church for the fashion show that is typical of Easter Sunday at most churches. While I do hate to admit I fall under that category of wearing something new for Easter. I don't quite get all the to do about dressing up when the rest of the year we're pretty casual about church attire. But like I said I do enjoy this holiday so I follow suit & got the girls cutsie dresses for the occasion. Like most 2 year-olds they did not oblige for a nice photo before we left so we caught some pics when we got home so please excuse our slight disheveled look.
Val is a firm believer that the 80s look is IN this year.
OR maybe she got this look from riding with the windows down in her convertible.
The girls were a little under the weather so we didn't make it to our local community Easter egg hunt but we were able to improvise very nicely at home. And actually this was probably a better idea to do a trial run at home then out in a gigantic field with other greedy little rugrats from the hood. Instead our cousin Elias joined us for a family egg painting & an egg hunt in the yard.
And off they went on their hunt!
Then we congregated to compare the stash.
All is good!
The hunting was obviously a bigger hit then egg painting..
They were more interested in stickers.
Aaand with a little help from the adults presto!
Our eggies.
